A young girl who was shot in the head Tuesday night on Hill Street in Oxnard is in stable condition and doing well, authorities say.
The 13-year-old girl, an Oxnard resident, was outside with a group of people when a man who witnesses described as being in his 20s exited an SUV that pulled up to the scene, yelled something and then fired into the assembly.
The victim took two pellets to the head and suffered a minor head wound and went to St. John’s Regional Medical Center for treatment. Authorities cordoned off the area to interview area residents and witnesses and search for evidence.
