Three Accused in Oxnard Massage Parlor Killing Appear in Court

Three suspects allegedly involved in last month’s killing of a person at an Oxnard massage parlor appeared in Ventura County Superior Court Tuesday.

Jose Ochoa, 26, Gabriel Lopez, 21, and Miguel Martinez, 17, all of Oxnard, are charged with the murder of 59-year-old Sun Cha Kays on Feb. 19. The three face attempted robbery charges as well.

All three suspects will be arraigned May 17. Martinez, a juvenile, is being tried as an adult. Ochoa faces other charges for unrelated incidents, including burglarly, kidnapping, rape and robbery. He is also accused of assault someone at an Oxnard bar as well as assaulting two women at Tokyo Spa. Ochoa

Kays, the manager of A-1 Spa Massage Therapy in Oxnard, suffered a gunshot wound to the head in the attempted robbery last month.
